COLORADO SPRINGS — With Colorado's presidential primary election less than a month away, Democratic candidates are turning their attention on the Centennial State.

Representatives for Mike Bloomberg and Elizabeth Warren will make trips to Colorado this weekend, including stops in El Paso County.

Julian Castro, who served as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Obama, will hold a canvass launch and Meet & Greet event in Manitou Springs Saturday.

Castro will meet with volunteers at the Manitou Art Center, at 513 Manitu Ave., to receive training before the campaign's first canvassing event in the community.

Actor and producer Sam Waterston, best known for his role as Jack McCoy on Law & Order, will open a field office in Aurora and Colorado Springs on Sunday.

Waterston is on the board of directors of Oceana and has a long record of supporting environmental issues.

He will open the Bloomberg campaign's Colorado Springs office, located at 115 N. Tejon St., Unit 115, at an event scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. on February 9.

Colorado's presidential primary takes place on March 3. Ballots will be mailed to registered voters starting Feb. 10.
