COLORADO SPRINGS — A pickup truck driver hit a motorcycle from behind, dragged it for 600 to 700 feet and ejected the motorcyclist who died on the scene Sunday night, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Police said the pickup driver was traveling at a "high rate of speed." The motorcyclist was driving south in the center lane on North Academy Boulevard passing Parkmoor Village Drive around 8:42 p.m. when he was hit by the white pickup truck.
CSPD said during the time the motorcycle was being dragged by the pickup truck, the motorcyclist was ejected onto the road and hit by a white minivan while he was on the road. The motorcyclist died on the scene.
Police said the pickup truck driver was arrested for DUI and he faces potential vehicular homicide charges.
