Street racing blamed for Powers Blvd. crash

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police said racing vehicles are responsible for a crash that shut down Powers between Astrozon and Fountain.

CSPD said two vehicles were racing on Murray and took off when police tried to stop them.

The vehicles turned onto Fountain Blvd. headed toward Powers.

Police said one of the drivers crossed over the median and struck another car.

Three people suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was arrested and faces multiple charges.
