COLORADO SPRINGS — For the first time in more than 20 years, the Colorado Springs Airport is raising parking rates.
The increase began on September 1st and includes both the short term and long term lots. The rate for each went up $1.
Travelers will now pay $9 for short term parking and $7 for long term parking.
The airport said the increase will help pay for facility improvements.
"These are really slated for capitol projects to maintain our parking lots and maintenance, keep it clean, and keep the customer experience a positive one," said Dana Schield
The fees will be evaluated to see if the airport could offer covered parking in the future.
Parking rates also went up at DIA this week.
