Otero County Deputy stabbed

OTERO COUNTY, Colorado — An Otero County Sheriff's Deputy was stabbed in the face during a traffic stop in Manzanola Sunday while responding to a report of domestic violence. According to a press release posted to the sheriff's office Facebook page, Anthony Guerra of Pueblo turned the knife on himself after stabbing the deputy.

A woman and children who were riding in the vehicle were safely removed. Guerra and the deputy were both taken to the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center for treatment and are expected to recover. Guerra has four outstanding warrants and faces additional charges related to Sunday's stabbings.
