PUEBLO — Wednesday, Pueblo opened a new COVID-19 vaccine clinic.

The Southern Colorado Harm Reduction Association (SCHRA) became a new vaccine site in Pueblo. The association distributed 500 doses.

People who are currently eligible under state guidelines got first priority. Any leftover vaccines went to people on a waiting list -- primarily people who live in the Bessemer neighborhood of Pueblo.

Judy Solano of SCHRA says Pueblo is happy to be a part of the vaccination process.

"Now we are able to do something that will actually save lives with the illness, so we are very excited about that," she said.

The clinic plans to host another COVID-19 mass vaccination soon.
