COLORADO SPRINGS — As we highlight the issues and experiences faced by the LGBTQ community, one local agency is hoping you can give deep.

Tuesday, June 30, is Give Out Day, the only national day of fundraising designated for LGBTQ organizations.

Give Out Day is organized by the Horizons Foundation, the world's first community organization created for and by LGBTQ people.
It's a day where everyone is encouraged to give to nonprofits who help strengthen and support LGBTQ communities across the country.

One organization in our area is Inside Out, located on North Wahsatch.

Inside Out has been operating in the Springs for 30 years and provides a safe space, emotional and psychological support for LGBTQ Youth.

Because of the pandemic, their physical offices have had to close. The agency has had to take its outreach virtual, making Give Out Day more important than ever.

"What this targeted day is focused on is elevating the advances and experiences of our LGBTQ+ people," said Joy Armstrong, development director of Inside Out. "We want to celebrate the amazing advocacy and support that these organizations are giving to people of all ages."
