COLORADO SPRINGS — Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center is hosting a free food giveaway Friday for community members in need of food.
The center said COVID-19 has created challenging times for the community and that "providing food" should not be one of those challenges.
This giveaway is not limited to veterans and their families. Items are being provided by the Colorado Springs Food Rescue and Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado.
Perishable and non-perishable items will be offered in a drive-thru delivery service at the center starting at 11 a.m. and until items run out. There will also be events on July 17 and July 31.
