Man killed in crash on I-25 near Pikes Peak International Raceway

EL PASO COUNTY — Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one person dead Saturday night.

Around 11:46 p.m. authorities were notified of a crash at mile marker 122 on Interstate 25, that's near the Pikes Peak International Raceway. CSP said a 2019 Hyundai Sonata, driven by a 33-year-old man, was southbound on I-25. The Hyundai left the roadway and became airborne, impacting a concrete overpass.

The unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. No one else was involved in the crash.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
