COLORADO SPRINGS — The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) is requesting additional funding at its Colorado Springs location.
Monday, the HSPPR asked the Colorado Springs City Council for a supplemental appropriation to the general fund and is seeking $100,000.
News 5 was told the money is needed to support wage increases, add additional staff, and to counteract the impacts of the high turnover rate at the Springs shelter.
The City Council will vote on the proposal in two weeks.
