DENVER — On Monday, Colorado Governor Jared Polis announced that Pueblo Mayor Nick Gradisar will serve on his newly created COVID-19 advisory committee for cooperation and implantation.

The group will work with the governor and Colorado's Public Health department to come up with policies and regulations as the state moves through the 'Safer at Home' phase.

The goal is to maximize social distancing at the local level.

"We're anxious as I'm sure the entire state is anxious to get up and running again," said Mayor Gradisar. "But our goal, I think, as a committee should be to develop some policies to make sure that we do that in a safe and effective manner."

Gradisar is one of about 10 officials from local governments selected for the committee and the only member from Southern Colorado.
