EL PASO COUNTY — Gov. Polis made a few stops in southern Colorado Monday afternoon to make some special deliveries to educators.

Polis delivered what he calls a "first of its kind, innovative, at-home COVID testing program" to a teacher in Fountain as well as other places across the state.

The "Bi-Nax" test is a rapid COVID test that is currently being sent out to Colorado and two other states.

Colorado purchases two million of the test kits to send to teachers and other educators across the state.

"The educators and paraprofessionals and others are really appreciative because it really helps give them the peace of mind they need for our classes to return to in-person instruction," Polis said.

In total, Polis made 11 deliveries across the state Monday.

Amazon will help deliver the rest of the two million kits to teachers and schools across the state.
