FALCON, CO — It's time once again for the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off, where pumpkin growers compete for the title of heaviest pumpkin.
The event had been held in Old Colorado City in the past, but is moving to a new home this year at Smith Farms in Falcon.
They're teaming up with Bristol Brewing to celebrate all things pumpkin. Along with the weigh-off, there will be family activities, food trucks, and a beer garden, with all proceeds benefiting Springs Rescue Mission.
"We've got the perfect spot for it. We're right off 24 We're easy to find," said Adam Smith from Smith Farms. "We've got a very established farm market. We've been in the community for eleven seasons."
Winners for the pumpkin contest can win $1,400 dollars.
The fun starts at 9 a.m. this Saturday, Oct. 19. Admission is free.
