PUEBLO — People will be freezin' for a reason Saturday morning in Pueblo.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's office will host its annual Polar Plunge at Lake Pueblo.
The event is a fundraiser for Special Olympics.
The Sheriff's Office says the cold water experience might sound miserable but it's really not so bad.
"Although it takes your breath away, just very instantly cold, it only lasts for a short time and emergency services sets up heated tents. So you run out of the cold water, it is only miserable for a minute, and then you can change in a heated tent," said Captain Dawn Ballas.
Spots are still open for the event.
Registration starts at 9 a.m. Saturday and goes until 11.
