PUEBLO — Do you need some firewood before winter gets here?

Head to Lake Pueblo State Park.

Free permits are available from Colorado Parks and Wildlife to pick up driftwood that has washed up on the shores of the lake.

The permits will be available starting on Nov. 13.

"It's good to get rid of it, to clean up the shoreline a little bit, making it less hazardous when we have different water levels. Plus people will use it, so why not," Park Ranger Matthew Taylor said.

Permits can be picked up at the park's visitor center.

You can pick up as much wood as you want, but only in designated areas.
