COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs-based non-profit Shield 616 has partnered with ESPN.

The organization will present protective vests to first responders during half time of the First Responders Bowl on December 30th.

Local law enforcement will be featured in a nationally televised commercial that will debut during the game.

"I want them to see a commercial they can be proud of, and be like yes, that is what we've taken an oath to do that's what we're out here for, we will run towards danger, we will protect our community," said Shield 616 Founder and President Jake Skifstad. "But then there's also another aspect of it when when that also when that officer takes that uniform off, they are a human being just like me and you, we have the same stress as we have the same concerns you know we have families at home."

The First Responders Bowl vest presentation will be the largest ever for Shield 616.
