COLORADO SPRINGS — The first ever downhill only mountain bike trail in Colorado Springs officially opened Tuesday in Ute Valley Park. It is one element of larger trail project that added planned sustainable trails and removed damaging rogue trails.

The one-way trail is a request made by mountain bikers during the master plan process for Ute Valley Park. "You don't have to worry about users coming up the trail, other bikes or certainly other hikers." It makes way for bikers to go fast around curves and over jumps. It is an opportunity for mountain bikers to challenge themselves on a technical trail, as well as a way to prevent conflicts with other trail users.
