COLORADO SPRINGS — Southbound I-25 has reopened between South Academy and Mesa Ridge Parkway following a fatal crash investigation Monday morning, according to Colorado State Patrol.
CSP said the single-vehicle crash killed a 20-year-old man after the Jeep swerved onto the right shoulder and back across the road, causing it to roll into the median on its wheels.
The interstate reopened around 10:20 a.m., nearly three hours after the initial report by state troopers.

The Colorado Department of Transportation reported a crash in the area earlier around 7 a.m. that blocked the left lanes on both the southbound and northbound sides of the interstate.
It is unclear if this investigation is for that crash or a new crash that happened in the same area.
CSP said the crash remains under investigation and anyone who was a witness to the accident are asked to call (719) 544-2424.
