PUEBLO — The Colorado State Fair has a whole new look this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

That includes the foodservice, and this year the fair went with a drive-thru for those that wanted to get those fried, tasty treats.

The drive-thru was a big hit all weekend long this past weekend. The state fair manager said more than 1,500 vehicles came to get food at the drive-thru.

It was so successful, the fair will do the drive-thru again this weekend, starting Friday, Sept. 4. It will open at 11:30 a.m. and go until 7 p.m. until Sunday.

"It shows there is a love and passion for the fair and people were keeping the spirit of the State Fair alive this year in a year where we couldn't have the full fair," Fair General Manager Scott Stoller said.

Those that head to the drive-thru will also be able to see the Grand Champion animals on display. Vehicles will enter the Colorado State Fair via Gate 9 located on Beulah Avenue and follow a one-way traffic pattern to exit via Gate 6 onto Small Avenue.

Once you receive your food, you are asked to exit the fairgrounds and enjoy at home. For a look at what foods will be offered, click here.
