EL PASO COUNTY — The El Paso County Search and Rescue team is mourning the loss of one of its "beloved and valuable" members of the K-9 team.
Bull Dozer, also known as Dozer, worked with the Search and Rescue team for the last 10 years.
He was 12 years old when he died from cancer Sunday.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office described Dozer as "an awesome friend and family member."
The Search and Rescue team said Dozer "rescued himself from an abusive home," which made Dozer take some time to trust his new family.
According to the team, Dozer did not quit. He loved searching and would pull his partner, Tom, through anything to stay on a scent.
They said they will miss his "slobbery kisses and his howls 'Hello."
