El Paso County parks and facilities reopen this week

EL PASO COUNTY — Parks and facilities in El Paso County are starting to reopen this week.

Beginning May 4, park headquarters will reopen Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the County Fairgrounds office also reopening on those same days from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Park restrooms will also reopen.

The Fountain Creek and Bear Creek Nature Centers will be reopen from Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Access will be limited to nine citizens at a time to follow Colorado's safer-at-home order, and no organized programs or activities will take place.

Starting May 9, Rainbow Falls Historic Site will be reopen on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both playground and pavilions will remain closed until further notice.

Park facility reservations above nine individuals are currently not being accepted through May 27, according to Gov. Jared Polis.

The remainder of coutny parks, trails, and open spaces remain open.
