Downtown Colorado Springs construction continues amid COVID-19

COLORADO SPRINGS — There is one thing that COVID-19 is not stopping and that is the downtown construction in Colorado Springs.

Under Colorado's stay-at-home order, construction is considered an essential business.

The City of Colorado Springs says that several major project are still on track to be finished on time.

"We're gratified that with construction being deemed essential business, work is continuing on many key projects impacting downtown," said Mayor John Suthers. "The U.S. Olympic and Para-Olympic Museum, the Robeson Arena at Colorado College, the downtown stadium and several of our hotel and apartment projects."

In addition, concrete work for 2-C road project are underway and the paving portion of the project will start later this year.
