PUEBLO COUNTY — Donthe Lucas, the man accused of murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend in Pueblo, made a court appearance Tuesday.
His jury trial is now scheduled for Jan. 25. It had been pushed back at least four times.
Lucas is accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend, 21-year old Kelsie Schelling, who is presumed dead but has not been located since she was last seen in Pueblo in February 2013 during a trip from Denver to see Lucas.
"I know it is going to be a difficult process to go through. I've been through so many different types of hell the last almost eight years and I know this is going to be just a different type," said Laura Saxton, Kelsie's mother.
Lucas has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges.
