COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Police Department lifted a shelter-in-place order that was placed for residents near Spruce Street as they searched for two suspects.

CSPD said they responded to a report of an assault where two suspects were armed with a bat and gun.

A victim was taken to the hospital to be treated while officers searched the area of the 400 block of Spruce Street.

Police said they found the suspect vehicle near a residence, so they surrounded the home until 40-year-old Jennifer Krejci and 34-year-old William Mutters came out of the house.

CSPD said the two were taken into custody for first-degree assault and felony menacing.

Residents in the area were asked to stay inside during this time.
