COLORADO SPRINGS — Seven people and five pets are displaced after a duplex fire, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD).
It happened around 8:45 p.m. Friday on Haney Road, which is located near the intersection of South Nevada Avenue and Lake Avenue.
According to CSFD, two units were involved in the fire. One of the units is an entire loss, and the other had heavy damage. Four adults, three children and five pets between the two units will be displaced.
CSFD says one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and a cut to the leg. They also say another person sustained minor burns and was treated at the scene.
The fire was under control just before 10:45 p.m. Friday. CSFD says fire crews are expected to be on scene throughout the night working on hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
