CROWLEY COUNTY — Colorado State Patrol says distracted driving is believed to be the main contributing factor in a crash Thursday afternoon that killed one person.
Around 2:30 Thursday afternoon, Troopers say a car headed west on Highway 96, about 3 miles east of Olney Springs, drifted into oncoming traffic and hit a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the car, identified as Kendra Woodward, 20, from Olney Springs, died at the scene of the crash. Troopers say she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The semi stopped partially off the road. An SUV collided with the semi's rear end.
The semi driver, as well as the SUV driver and his two passengers, were not injured.
Troopers say alcohol, drugs, and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, but it is still under investigation.

According to CDOT, a crash on Highway 96, at mile marker 97, has closed traffic in both directions.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon involving three vehicles; two cars and a semi-truck.
Currently, the semi-truck is spilling gas onto the road way.
A 20-year-old female was pronounced dead on scene by officials.
Officials believe that the highway will not be re-opened for a few hours for investigation and clean up.
