COLORADO SPRINGS — Two lanes will be closed on Garden of the Gods Road as Colorado Springs Utilities works on a water main valve replacement project Monday.
The closures will last from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. starting today through Saturday, Nov. 23, between Rusina Road and Fire Station 9 on eastbound Garden of the Gods.
CSU will replace two water main valves during this time.
Westbound lanes on Garden of the Gods should not be affected by the project, but turn lanes through the construction area could be limited.
Drivers who take this road to I-25 or get off of I-25 to Garden of the Gods are asked to find alternate routes.
CSU said regular traffic in this area could cause "dangerous and lengthy backups on I-25" if drivers do not find alternate routes.
Drivers will still be able to have access to businesses along Garden of the Gods.
