COLORADO SPRINGS — El Pomar Youth Sports Park in Colorado Springs celebrated a new partnership with Scheels Saturday by changing its name to "Scheels Field."

Scheels will open a new store in the city next springs.

The partnership will help the park keep up with improvements and reduces costs for kids who use it.

"We rely on partners like Scheels to help support us here in the park, to help keep the park safe, high-quality, and most importantly affordable for all these kids playing in these leagues," said Executive Director Steve Czarnecki.

The park sees about 300,000 visitors each year. It's 58 acres in size and has nine softball and baseball fields, as well as nine other multipurpose fields.
