COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Rescue Mission's doors are open but space is in short supply.

The mission said that all but eight of the 450 beds were taken up by people getting out of the cold Tuesday night.

The staff at the mission is working hard to serve as many people as they can.

"So were anticipating more people tonight. Our staff is ready. In fact, we've been kind of on an emergency mode over the last three days. We've extended our hours," said Travis Williams, Chief Development Officer.

The mission said they do need more volunteers and are also calling on the public to donate coats, hats, gloves, and other clothing items to keep people equiped against the cold.
