Colorado Springs Nigerian community celebrates Nigerian Independence Day Sunday

COLORADO SPRINGS — The Nigerian community in Colorado Springs celebrated Nigerian Independence Day over the weekend. The non-profit Nigeria Association Colorado Springs held a celebration Sunday.

The celebration of Nigerian culture and community marked the country's 64 year of independence.

News5 spoke with organizers who say they want to celebrate their rich cultural heritage.

The non-profit hopes the celebration will reach a larger audience and highlight the community's contributions in Olympic City USA.
