PUEBLO — Black Hills Energy is offering a helping hand to customers with lower incomes to beat the heat this summer.
The energy company has rolled out its "Direct Install program."
BHE customers who make less than 80% of the median income in the area are eligible to get a free swamp cooler or refrigerator.
"Unfortunately, not everyone has the financial ability to afford those or replace an old one that certainly needs to be replaced," said Garrison Ortiz, Pueblo County Commissioner District 2. "That's what this program allows for, and its in great partnership with Black Hills Energy, that we are able to accomplish this."
To see if you qualify, please call (719) 583-6110 and Dial 0 to ask about the program.
