COLORADO SPRINGS — Multiple students and staff members from Academy District 20's Woodmen-Roberts Elementary and High Plains Elementary have been placed in quarantine.
According to a press release sent by the school district, one staff member in isolation and 36 students, in two separate classes, and nine staff members are in quarantine at Woodmen-Roberts Elementary.
At High Plains Elementary, one staff member is in isolation and one class of 12 students is in quarantine.
The district says it is important to note, no one at any of these schools has tested positive for COVID-19. These isolations and quarantines are out of an abundance of caution and in effect per the guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the El Paso County Public Health. The district is waiting on test results of those in isolation to determine if/when the quarantines can be lifted.
Academy District 20 has received several negative COVID-19 tests on Friday and over the weekend, which resulted in all quarantines being lifted from Discovery Canyon Campus, all grade levels, as well as Aspen Valley High School and Explorer Elementary School.
