COLORADO SPRINGS — Twenty students and staff members from Academy District 20's Discovery Canyon Campus are now in quarantine after a staff member showed COVID-like symptoms.
At this time, this decision impacts the middle school and high school. The district said they learned Tuesday that a staff member was on campus while showing COVID-like symptoms.
Their test has not come back positive yet, so as a precaution the district said the staff member will be isolated for 10 days or until they are no longer infectious.
The 20 students and staff members under quarantine have been identified as being in close contact with the staff member and showing symptoms. The areas on the campus where they were in are being disinfected and deep cleaned.
The district has seen several schools quarantine students in the last week as precautions, such as Woodmen Roberts Elementary, Ranch Creek Elementary, and Frontier Elementary.
