FORT CARSON — According to a release, the 4th Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) from Fort Carson will be deployed to Afghanistan later this year in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel.

The 4th SFAB will replace the 3rd Security Forces Assistance Brigade, from Fort Hood, Texas, as part of a regular rotation of forces.

"Our advisors are fully trained, and every Soldier is ready for the mission that lies ahead," said Col. James Dooghan, commander, 4th SFAB. "We look forward to maintaining the legacy of all NATO forces who have laid the foundation before us, especially our fellow SFABs across the U.S."

While deployed, the Soldiers will advise and assist Afghan partners on security force operations.
