COLORADO SPRINGS – According to the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report, Colorado is the 10th best state in the country, but we all know it’s ten spots too low.
The rankings focused on eight weighted categories to compile the rankings.
Colorado was ranked as the best economy in the country, but it scored 31st in natural environment (um, how?) and scored in the middle of the pack for crime and corrections, fiscal stability and opportunity.
The same publication recently ranked Colorado Springs and Denver as the third-best and second-best cities, respectively. However, that wasn’t enough to earn the top spot.
Washington was named the best in the country, with top-five rankings in health care, education and infrastructure.
The top 10 is listed below:
- Washington
- New Hampshire
- Minnesota
- Utah
- Vermont
- Maryland
- Virginia
- Massachusetts
- Nebraska
- Colorado
Louisiana ranked last in the country, scoring worse than Alabama, Mississippi, West Virginia and New Mexico.
