DOUGLAS COUNTY – Formal charges for the two suspects in the shooting this week at STEM School in Highlands Ranch are expected to be announced at a court appearance Friday.

Devon Erickson, 18, and a 16-year-old suspect both made initial court appearances Wednesday.

Erickson is being held without bond and was booked on 30 counts, including first-degree murder and 29 of attempted first-degree murder.

Meanwhile, investigators are releasing more details about the guns used in the shooting. Investigators say they believe the two used crowbars to break into a locked gun safe in the home of Erickson’s parents.

Sources tell our reporting partner Denver7 that three handguns and a rifle were taken, but the rifle was not used in the shooting.

No other specific details about the guns were released.

Investigators are also looking into graffiti spray painted onto a car at the home.
