COLORADO SPRINGS – Early Saturday afternoon, CSPD reported a serious traffic accident east of the city.
The department said the accident was on Marksheffel Rd. just north of Drennan. Southbound Marksheffel/Hwy 24 was closed from the crash to Drennan Rd. At 7:15 p.m., CSPD reported that Marksheffel was reopened.
The accident involved a motorcycle, but few other details were reported by police.
Almost an hour after the initial report, CSPD confirmed the accident was fatal.

Police have not confirmed that the motorcyclist is the deceased person, only that there was a vehicle versus motorcycle crash and one party was determined to be deceased on scene.
