President Trump to speak at Air Force Academy graduation

COLORADO SPRINGS – A representative with the Air Force Academy confirmed to News5 that President Trump will speak at the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony this May.

The Air Force representative said they confirmed the news with the White House. This will be President Trump’s first time speaking at the graduation ceremony, which is scheduled for May 30.

Graduation speakers at the academy typically rotate between the President, Vice President, Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Air Force.

It will be the first presidential address at the Academy since former President Obama spoke in 2016. Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis addressed the academy in 2018.

The Academy’s Bluebards Theatre Troup

  • May 23, 26, 27 at 7:00 p.m. – Arnold Theatre – ‘The Music Man’ for three separate performances.

Graduation Reception

  • May 29 at 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Mitchell Hall – open to graduating cadets, families and guests. Tickets required.

Cadet Graduation Concert

  • May 28 at 7:30 p.m. – Arnold Hall Theater

Cadet Aerial Demonstrations and Graduation Parade

  • May 29 at 7:30 a.m. – Stillman Field – Wings of Blue parachute team, glider team, powered flight aircraft. Parade begins immediately after demonstrations.

Graduation Ceremony

  • May 30 at 9:30 a.m. – Falcon Stadium – Speeches from honored staff and guests, including President Donald Trump. Concludes with flyover by the US Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team.

  • May 30 – Conclusion of graduation ceremony – Falcon Stadium – There are many places to watch the display in Colorado Springs. Keep in mind you are not allowed to stop or park along I-25 for viewing.
