Arrests made in series of robberies that started on April 6

COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs Police have arrested people involved in a series of robberies that started on April 6.

CSPD says its Robbery Unit noticed more than one pattern to the robberies and detectives learned two groups were operating independently.

The first set of robberies took place from April 6-9.

Suspects armed with handguns or other weapons approached victims on the street or in convenience stores and demanded property.

Five arrests were made in these robberies, including 18-year-old Charles Jackson, Jr., of Colorado Springs, and three juvenile males and one juvenile female.

Detectives are still working to find the victim of the Attempted Carjacking on April 7.

Witnesses told police that around 1 a.m. a female was leaving a convenience store when the suspects approached her, implied they were armed, and took her car keys. The victim showed her own firearm and demanded her keys back, then pointed the firearm at the suspects. The suspects threw her keys back and left in a stolen vehicle.

The second pattern included nine robberies from April 6-18.

These suspects drove stolen vehicles to commit armed robberies of convenience stores and individuals.

Seven arrests were made in these robberies, including four juvenile females, one juvenile male, and two adults — Jessica Martin, 18, from Colorado Springs, and Jamire Flories, 18, from El Paso County.
