Unexploded ordnance in Woodland Park determined to be training round

WOODLAND PARK – Around 3:45 p.m., Woodland Park Police were asking the community to avoid the area of Coldwell Banker after police received a report of a possible unexploded ordnance in the area.

The Fort Carson Explosives Unit was called in and determined the object to be a training round.

The round was taken back to the Mountain Post and disposed of.

At this time, there is no information on how the round got there.

The investigation is ongoing.
