PUEBLO – Southern Colorado continues to rally around the recovery of Pueblo police officer Jonathan Bell. On Tuesday, Brooks Howard and his trusty K-9 companion, “Mojo” traveled from Rye to visit Bell, who continues to recover after suffering multiple gunshot wounds during the course of a deadly officer-involved shooting last month.

Howard and “Mojo” delivered a very large “get well soon” card to officer Bell. Howard told News5 “with the officer-involved shooting down here, we just wanted to bring something down, something special from Mojo and hopefully, we get to do some therapy with officer Bell”.

Pueblo PD tells News5 that Officer Bell is making progress. He was shot five times in both legs, shattering one of his leg bones. Howard says he can help provide a service dog if there is a need as Officer Bell continues to recover and rehabilitate. We wish he and his family the best moving forward. And, thank all of our fine men and women in uniform for their service and sacrifice every day for all of us across Southern Colorado.
