COLORADO SPRINGS – Saturday is a big day for BMX bikers.
The refurbished track at Pikes Peak BMX, 8270 Lexington Dr., is opening up.
“It gets a lot of kids off the couches,” said Bubba Hayes, champion BMX rider.
It is one of the oldest tracks in the state, and workers spent Friday putting on the finishing touches. Signs up for Saturday rides is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and racing starts at 11 a.m.
“It gets the adrenaline flowing,” Hayes said. “It’s just a great sport. It’s a great family sport.”
