PUEBLO WEST – A Pueblo West resident and her group say people are abandoning animals at Cat’s Tail Pond.

Jodie Wellman frequents the watering hole and she says her group finds ducks and other animals that are not native to the pond.

“It kind of breaks my hear that people don’t care enough to find them a proper home and don’t realize that dumping a domestic animal into a wild situation is putting them on their death list,” Wellman said.

The Pueblo West Metro District says it hasn’t received a lot of reports about this issue.

The District did say that if there is a problem, call the Parks and Rec. Dept. or CPW.

Wellman says you can also contact her group, Pueblo West Animal Swap.
