PUEBLO – The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing work on a 12-mile section of I-25 south of Pueblo next week.

The repaving project will cover both sides of the interstate from milemarker 79.6 to milemarker 92. Crews will also be installing more than 20,000 linear feet of guardrail and will be performing repairs on eight bridges in that stretch.

CDOT said drivers should expect “minimal delays” on I-25 while work happens. Drivers should expect single-lane closures on streets that run under the interstate during repairs.

Work will take place in the daytime hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. this summer. No work will happen overnight or on weekends.

The $7.6 million project is expected to wrap up in October.
