Red Cross warming shelters open across the region

COLORADO – For areas that are being impacted the worst by Wednesday’s winter storm, the Red Cross has several warming and evacuation shelters open and staffed with volunteers.

Drinks are provided. Disaster health services and disaster-related counseling is on standby.

Shelters open in the Mile High Region:

Douglas County:

  • New Hope Presbyterian Church- 3737 New Hope Way, Castle Rock
  • New Covenant Church- 77 Perry Park Ave., Larkspur

Elbert County:

  • Elbert County Fairgrounds- 95 Ute Ave., Kiowa

Aurora City:

  • Vista Peak High School- 24500 E. 6th Ave., Aurora

El Paso County:

  • St. Peter’s Catholic Church- 55 Jefferson St., Monument
  • Patriot Learning Center- 11990 Swingline Rd., Peyton
  • Old Peyton Middle School (Peyton School District)- 18320 Main St., Peyton
  • Woodmen Valley Chapel- Rockrimmon Campus (Independent)- 290 E. Woodmen Rd., Colorado Springs

These shelters will stay open until they are no longer needed.
