COLORADO SPRINGS – El Paso County is currently seeking nominations for this year’s Veteran of the Year award.
Nominations are due June 30 and can be submitted online or sent through the U.S. Postal Service, fax or email. A nomination form can be found at https://communityservices.elpasoco.com/veterans-services/veteran-of-the-year/.
Nominees should demonstrate exemplary military service, community support, and support for veterans in the community. They must have an honorable discharge or retired from one of the five Armed Forces, including the Reserve or National Guard or the U.S. Merchant Marines. All nominees must live in El Paso County.
This is the third year the award will be handed out. Past winners are Victor Fernandez and Leo Martinez.
