COLORADO – Wednesday’s $750 million Powerball jackpot would be the fourth largest jackpot in US history.

While this number may be enticing, the Colorado Lottery wants to remind you to play responsibly.

As you’re dreaming big about what you could do with three-quarters of a billion dollars, remember that it only takes one $2 ticket for a chance to win.

Remember to practice responsible gambling. Set limits, understand the risk, and only spend what you can afford.

With a jackpot this big, it’s easy to get swept up in the excitement, but the Colorado Lottery wants you to remember that these games of chance are meant to be fun. When playing the lottery is no longer enjoyable, becomes burdensome, or interferes with your normal life, it may be time to stop.

The month of March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month and the Colorado Lottery says it has made it a priority to combat the issue of problem gambling. The agency works closely with the Problem Gambling Coalition of Colorado (PGCC) to educate the public about the warning signs of problem gambling and remind them that help is available.

On the back of each ticket the Colorado Lottery sells is a toll-free problem gambling helpline number: 1-800-522-4700.
