COLORADO SPRINGS – All of those downed trees and branches from this month’s blizzard are getting a new life.
Colorado Springs Foresters are shredding the trees into mulch.
The huge pile of mulch will be used for city parks and playgrounds, but a portion of it will also be available to the public for free.
“The only thing we ask is that commercial entities not take the mulch from there, because it’s intended to go back to the citizenry for whatever they need it at their houses,” said Forestry worker, Greg Eno.
The mulch bin is across the street from the city forestry yard on Recreation Way.
