LA PLATA COUNTY – The investigation into what sparked this summer’s 416 Fire in La Plata County is taking longer than expected.
The Forest Service said there are a couple of reasons for the delay.
One is the complexity and the other is the government shutdown.
The investigation was supposed to be released in late fall or early winter.
A lawsuit has been filed blaming the Durango and Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad for starting the fire. The railroad has denied liability.
