CANON CITY – Monday night, the Canon City Council is expected to vote on whether to declare “Second Amendment Preservation” status in resistance to Colorado’s “Red Flag Bill.”
The legislation, if passed, would allow family or police to place an “extreme risk protection order” on someone who is considered a threat to themselves or others. That would allow law enforcement to seize the person’s guns.
Several other counties across the state have already made similar declarations.
